Meet the Team

More of a family than a team, all of us at @The River Lodge Ishasha are ready to host you and look after all of your needs when you arrive with us.  Whether you are staying for a few days or stopping in for a quality lunch on your way through the region we strive to make your time with us as enjoyable and memorable as possible.

Kerry & Jonathan

Lodge Manager/Operations & Marketing

With many years of working across East Africa – and not only in the hospitality sector – Kerry and Jonathan have a combined wealth of experience which is perfectly suited to running @The River Lodge Ishasha.  Priding themselves on giving a ‘high end’ experience at a more budget-friendly cost they are always looking for ways to improve what we offer to ensure every guest leaves smiling.

Violet

Head Chef / Kitchen Manager

Violet is, quite simply, an excellent chef and we are so delighted to have her working with us!  Sensitive to and understanding of all special dietary requirements, Violet’s food is exquisite and she never disappoints – the compliments from our guests just keep coming.  She prides herself on being able to produce a wide variety of vegetarian dishes, and her desserts are stunning! You will not be disappointed!

Billy

Team Member

Billy is always busy, whether he is maintaining our swimming pool, setting the camp fires or making sure the water for the showers are hot, but his main responsibility is looking after our on-site farm.  Providing much of the fresh produce for our kitchen Billy has a real talent for growing crops including tomatoes, green peppers, onions, carrots, cabbages, water melons and even pineapples and avocados!

John aka Bags

Assistant Operations / Bar Manager

Bags always wears a smile and nothing is ever too much trouble for him; in short, we would really struggle to cope without him!  He loves to meet new people and never fails to make our guests feel welcome from the moment they arrive.  Taking pride in making sure the drinks in the bar are always cold (no mean feat considering we run totally on solar power) and he is nearly always the first one on duty every morning – a real gem!
